Tasha-Leigh is a volunteer on the Regional Sustainability Initiative at SWR. Initiatially, Tasha-Leigh started as a co-op student from the University of Waterloo. She enjoyed her work term so much that she stayed with us as a volunteer, and we couldn’t be happier about it! Her passion for sustainability and wit make her a great fit on the SWR team. We love the enthusiasm she brings to our office, and she is extremely detailed oriented. As someone who works on the Environment and Sustainability Software (formerly the Carbon Accounting Tool), it’s important that she cares about quality and detail. Tasha-Leigh works to keep this software working, up-to-date, optimized, and complete with member data. When asked to give a list of three and six month objectives, Tasha-Leigh returned with a PDF containing goals, action items, and measurable results. This was above an beyond what was asked of her and is a perfect example of her work ethic. Outside of SWR, Tasha-Leigh enjoys recreational activities in nature. She loves hiking and practicing plant/moss/tree/lichen identification. Right now she is working on her masters where she is testing a method that could improve the current restoration techniques for disturbed peatlands. Tasha-Leigh continues to keep us on our toes, and we are so thankful for everything that she brings to the team. Keep on rocking, Tasha-Leigh!
