Patrick is a volunteer on the finance team at SWR. He sets direction for the organization’s financial processes and activities alongside management and board members. From the moment we first met Patrick we were inspired by his strong passion for sustainability and the amazing technical knowledge that he brings to our team. We admire and appreciate his great sense of humour. Patrick has taken on the challenge of contributing key financial decisions, best practice setting, monthly reporting, budgeting, annual financial audits, and infusion of financial knowledge across the SWR staff team. We wouldn’t be the same without him! Within the SWR finance team, Patrick acts as a mentor while also providing guidance and industry grounding for our ongoing reporting that our board greatly appreciates. In December, Patrick played a key role in assembling and presenting our final 2019 budget to our board of directors for approval, and is presently working with the finance team on year-end processes in preparation for our annual financial audit. Outside of SWR, Patrick is the Director of Finance/Treasurer for the Corporation of the Township of Wilmot. In his everyday life, he is passionate about supporting his community in various capacities: He is a member of the Elmira Volunteer Fire Department, on the Board of Directors for Kate’s Kause, building knowledge and understanding for Angelman Syndrome, promoting accessible and inclusive recreation amenities, as well as annually volunteering with the Elmira Maple Syrup Festival. Patrick’s dedication astounds us! One of the reasons Patrick volunteers with Sustainable Waterloo Region is because he can learn how to effectively work in a diverse group, with varying areas of passion, interest and ability, to achieve a common goal. He always enjoys his time with the unique staff and volunteers that he meets. Patrick Kelly, Finance Team Volunteer Patrick continues to amaze us with his passion to help his community as well as all of those that live within it. We love working with you, Patrick!
